How To Not Give Up In The Online Business Game

How To Not Give Up In The Online Business Game

I have a confession to make.

I’ve never had a job.

I don’t know how a paystub works, how to pour ICE over water, or any other of the common experiences of “employed” people.

I always, paid for things, through my hustle - and I could never bring myself to take a job.

There have been a few close calls, but I doubt things will change significantly.

But, I’m not like most people…

The GIVEUP, The Get-up

I have run a viral entrepreneurship community, and before that, I worked with predominantly startups in my 6 year long marketing agency journey.

Among my family and friends - I am the go-to resource when somebody is becoming or wants to, go into business for themselves.

Very often - I come across stories of people who had succesful careers, and leveraged their career “networked” connections, into a new business.

But equally as often - I meet people who quit (or are fired) from their job, pursue consulting/freelancing on the side or a company - and give up pretty damn quickly.

If you’re like most of our entrepreneurs - you have a BIG dream.

You’ve watched countless Alex Hormozi, Gary Vee, Patrick Bet David videos- and you believe working hard, and believing in something - is the key to earning financial and true freedom and self-value in your life

As much as you convince yourself otherwise - if you give up on your dream, it will be devastating - on your deathbed, you will regret never trying what you knew you were capable of.

And if you give up now - you probably won’t try again - years will be lost.

The Problem

I am working on a product (an app) that will drastically influence IF NOT guarantee success in online business - the wet dream of many an internet marketer.

But what actually causes people to GIVE UP?

The answer folks, is all in the simoleons.

MONEY

You need money to run a business. Actually, you need money to run a life - and if you are more advanced in life (i.e have a family) you generally need more money.

But at whatever point you are - you are constantly reminded that you need money. This is no more true than in business - when you are constantly pitched, asked to pay people, or invest in yourself.

In someone who has always had stable employment and conditioning of a job - these pressures lead to a chain of negative events and cognitions.

and the net effect of these interactions between your mind and your environment - often SLOWLY eat away at your commitment, your visions - and those “dreams” you had a few months ago when you started.

Those “optimistic” and encouraging sales calls, with peers about your vision - are replaced by the grim reality -and you announce your return to the corporate world.

Your peers cheer you on, your family is happy for you, everyone can relax and you feel good like you made the SMART decision. You can pursue your business later on, the timing wasn’t right.

But make no mistake - your dream is dead.

You on your deathbed wondering what could have been

AND MAYBE that’s okay for you - and you don’t really want it. But if you do- you need to set yourself up for success and to AVOID this highly likely outcome.

Peer Pressure 101

There is a reason y-combinator makes you move to another location, and be around people 24/7 who are business-focused.

You need to spend as much time as possible with people who are as equally committed to their vision (or your vision - your team) as you are.

When we hide, with our hobbies/personal life - it is super easy, to forget about the initial dream or spark.

The more time you spent in a “work-positive environment” the safer you are - ideally this is a community like the One Network that has constant (7 day a week) interaction, and an in-person component.

But if we are being real - this is only one part of it - because you can easily not engage/play along as a yes man.

Surround Yourself with The Right People

The people you surround yourself with, need an incentive to keep you accountable and on your vision, and not allow you to get up. In our network - its a crowd accelerator.

Everyone pools connections and helps each other. So if you quit - it hurts everyone.

You need your group, to exert pressure on you - to not be a b%7ch and go back on your word.

This part of the reason why we charge a small fee monthly even though it doesn’t cost us any money to operate cause of the barter system - when you have “skin” in the game, most people take things more seriously, make it worth - do more and explore more.

Do HARD Things

You can spend months in analysis paralysis and not make a single ounce of progress. I have fallen victim to this, and know many people lost in this trap - often times for years.

We download “task templates” - basically a life plan, from more successful entrepreneurs - of where in your niche they spent their time (ex outreach, sales or development) and how much they did to get where they were, how much was based purely on their network.

One of our mentors than meets with you and ensures you do the HARD STUFF.

When you do the hard stuff, you build confidence - true confidence - in yourself. which makes it MUCH HARDER to give up.

I think with these 3 items - you give yourself much better a chance of not following victim to the “give up” trap.

Until next time!!!
